Claire Greenfield studied Euroculture in 2009 - 2010 at both the universities of Krakow and Göttingen.
Claire Greenfield’s thesis was chosen as winning thesis as her thesis is original in scope and truly interdisciplinary. Her thesis was convincing, very well-written, structured and researched and she discussed a highly important topic. The thesis demonstrates a broad theoretical and empirical knowledge, showing a wide-ranging command of the relevant literature. The applied methodological frame withstands a critical assessment and the covered case-studies are well chosen and analyzed. The topic of Claire Greenfield's thesis is highly relevant with its focus on the two current issues of citizenship and education. The research is carried out convincingly and brings about relevant results. This is a very good example of how to do a discourse analysis within Euroculture.
