Robert Wagenaar and Julia González receive EAIE Bo Gregersen Award for Best Practice

Robert Wagenaar (University of Groningen) and Julia González (Deusto University Bilbao) were presented with the Bo Gregersen Award for Best Practice on Wednesday 14 September during the plenary opening session of the EAIE conference in Copenhagen. They were awarded the prize for their services to the development and implementation of the international Tuning Educational Structures project. Robert Wagenaar and Julia González are amongst the 'founding fathers' of the EM master Euroculture.

Bo Gregersen Award for Best Practice

The Bo Gregersen Award for Best Practice is named after Bo Gregersen, Director of Study Administration of the EAIE, who died in 2008. Bo Gregersen was one of the driving forces behind the EAIE, and involved from the start in the organization. The award is presented annually to people who have made a major contribution to the promotion of internationalization in education.

Professionals in higher education from all over the world gather together every year for the EAIE conference, this year held in Copenhagen from 13-16 September. The event is the largest of its kind in Europe. The welcoming speech this year was given by Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark.

Robert Wagenaar, Julia González and Tuning Educational Structures

Robert Wagenaar has been Director of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen since 2003. Together with Julia Gonzáles, he is the initiator of the innovative international Tuning Educational Structures project. The Tuning Project contributes to the modernization of higher education, in particular by developing an integrated approach to the design and implementation of curricula. Central issues are a student-centred approach, key competences and learning outcomes. Julia González is Vice Rector of International Relations at Deusto University Bilbao.
