Giacomo Orsini – who studied Euroculture in both Groningen and Krakow – graduated in March 2011 with distinction ‘cum laude’. He had written an excellent thesis on ‘The image of Europe in postcolonial Pune. The Indian academic perspective on Europe. Postcoloniality, postcolonialism and hybridity’.
During the 3rd semester of the Euroculture master, Orsini opted for the research track and he was selected for a grant and a stay at the University of Pune, India. During his 3 month stay in India Giaocmo also managed to write his MA thesis and thus could finish within the 16 months-time limit of the Euroculture master.
The past years Giacomo has shown an exceptional social awareness and passionate involvement in various welfare projects. He has worked with migrants, refugees and autistic people. By studying in various countries and taking part in projects abroad, Giacomo has developed a truly international scope from which he for sure will benefit in his future academic career.
