Who collects and processes this data?

The data, together with the required documents, are available for processing to the Euroculture staff in the three universities mentioned during the application, as they assess the applications, and to the Euroculture Consortium secretariat at the University of Groningen, that is in charge of coordinating the student intake each year and the selection of students for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship. In exceptional cases, these might be made available to another Euroculture consortium university. Erasmus Mundus scholarship applications are pre-screened by the Mobility Office of the University of Groningen to ensure that the educational level of the candidates is sufficient to be admitted to the Master in Euroculture.

The Euroculture Consortium partner universities (defined under the Euroculture Consortium Agreement) have signed an agreement on the procedures for collecting and processing applicants’ data. The University of Groningen, as the coordinating university of the Consortium, is charged with collecting, storing and sharing the applicants' data with its partners. All documents and personal data submitted by individuals during the application in the Online Application Tool is stored in server space reserved by the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen through the FormDesk software. This data may be extracted and used by all participating partner universities in the Euroculture Consortium for the purposes of assesing applications and registering applicants with higher education institutions associated with the Euroculture Consortium.

Additionally, if an application is selected for the Euroculture MA  (proposed for a scholarship, put on the reserve list or enrolled on a self-paying basis), its data may be used for the purposes of evaluating the Erasmus programmes, efficiently managing Erasmus projects, and producing statistics. Data could be made available to the Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), the European Commission, the European External Action Service staff, as well as to other stakeholders of the Erasmus+ programme, such as Erasmus+ National Agencies, National Erasmus+ Offices and the Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association.

Why are these data collected and processed?

These data are collected in order to evaluate both self-funding and scholarship applications and determine which applicants can be accepted to the Master programme. Additionally, the information on applicants’ educational background (including the location of the first university) and nationality can be used to improve the Euroculture programme’s marketing and PR activities.

Every applicant is requested to read and agree to this privacy statement before submitting their application. The above-mentioned parties are thereby empowered to collect, store and process the applicants’ personal data through the explicit consent of the applicant.
